Adventures in Gardening

My vegetable garden this year is quite unique.
I am hand-digging several 4'x6' plots with walking paths between. My husband and I have discussed framing them for raised beds next year, but for now we have no frames. My almost-ten-year-old daughter helped to lay out the plots as part of her math lesson for that week. She got excited about it!

Sunday, April 22, 2012 - I planted a plot of Snow Pea seeds. Yes, I realize that I am a bit late, but I still hope to get a good steady crop during the summer months for use in salads and stir fries.

TODAY, Thursday, April 26, 2012 - I got four little tomato plants and four marigold plants in the ground in their own special plot. I even FINISHED it! I put down landscape fabric with mulch on top, and put the tomato stakes over the plants before watering them. I was too tired to get the camera out after I cleaned myself up, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get pictures.
